Sunday Inspiration: Responsibility

Responsibility & Destiny Fulfillment

Sunday Service

Pst. Abraham Ojeme

Begin to see life from the perspective of seriousness. You must always demand from each day what apportions to you. There are so many lives that are attached to you. Deut 30:19. There are seeds and destinies that are attached to you. Those who live life by chance never stand a chance. It is what you make to be that becomes. Taking something without paying for it makes you a thief, the price for greatness is responsibility. Anything you get by accident you will lose by accident you must know the price you will pay.

1. Responsibility is knowing your day and doing it. The first expectation of God for man after creation was responsibility. Gen 2:15. Every time you find yourself in any place the first question you should ask yourself is your duty. The moment you can't place your finger on your obligation, quickly bow out. It's your responsibility to know your responsibility. Marriages fail because of irresponsibility not the devil.

2. Responsibility is knowing your context. As you go through life, circumstances will place responsibility for you and some limits. Know those limits. Gen 2:16-17. When you are ignorant of the limits of your activity you become irresponsible. Right from creation man has been bound by thou shall and thou shall not. People of responsibility mind the little things of life, little angles lead to big changes. Understand the limits of your activity and key into it. As human beings we were not created to be independent.

"Most of us can read the writing on the wall we just assume it is for someone else."
- Ivern Ball

3. It is answering for your actions. Gen 2:16-17, Gen 3:9-12. There is always a 'but' in life, if you don't know it that's trouble. Responsibility demands that there are implications for your actions. The bulk should stop with you. Stop playing the blame game.

"Deal with the consequences of your actions because life ain't no video game."
- Takayuki Ikkaku & Toshiro Kabawata.

When you break the hedge the serpent must bite.

"99% of all failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses."
- George Washington Carver.

Are you ready for what will happen when you do what you want.

4. It is being accountable. It is Being under authority. 1 Cor 11:3. Not to be under authority makes you irresponsible. Be responsible with your finances. Irresponsible people have no account for their money. Gen 3:9-12.

"There is not a chance we will reach our full potential until we stop blaming each other and start practicing personal accountability."
- John Miller.

"Taking personal accountability is a beautiful thing because it gives us complete control of our destiny."
- Heather Schuck.

5. It is trustworthiness. Keep your promises at any cost or don't make them at all. Ps 15:4. Stand by you word. Trust is a commodity till you give it you won't get it. Can you be trusted to stand for the truth.

"The willingness to accept responsibility for ones own life Js he source from which self respect springs."
- John Didion.

Responsibility will not allow you to see sin and call it another name. Sin is not social crisis, it is sin.
